'Elsie Janis and the Boys' will have a reading on Thursday, June 11th,  at the York! About Elsie Janis, the super trooper 'Bob Hope of WWI'. Featuring a score that's half original and half vintage WWI era songs - the ultimate throwback Thursday!! Jillian Louis portrays Elsie Janis, with husband Keith Varney as one of the boys!!!  New music and arrangements by John Prestianni and book by Carol Crittenden.

 

In March Jillian performed the role of Elizabeth Banvard in the Drama League's readings of Georama, a biomusical about iconic American artist John Banvard, book by West Hyler and music by Matt Schatz and Jack Herrick, with Charity Wicks, Miles Aubrey, Eric Anderson, Mark Jacoby, and Randy Blair.    She and Jack Herrick performed at Playwrights Horizons' annual gala, singing Jack's song Blow Out the Candle from his show Wilder.

January ‘14 — Jillian performs in the first public reading of In My Body, a new musical piece by Lis Kalogris, Melissa Hays, Kate Cipriano, Dan Martin, and Michael Biello.  

 

December ‘13 - Jillian will be performing the role of Ariel in a private reading of Tom Jones and Andrew Gerle’s new musical adaptation of The Tempest.

 

Jillian did a two-week workshop of Rob Rokicki and Joe Tracz’s new musical adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

August ‘13- Jillian performs in a private reading of In My Body, a new musical piece by Lis Kalogris, Melissa Hays, Kate Cipriano, Dan Martin, and Michael Biello.  With the rest of The Other Sex team, Jillian presents two private readings of the new musical.

May ‘13-  Jillian will play Alice Roosevelt in Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford’s (“Getting My Act Together and Taking it on The Road”) “Einstein and the Roosevelts” with Austin Pendleton.  In Ted Sod and Martin and Biello’s short film “Papa’s Prince,” Jillian will play the role of Alix. Jillian will join the cast of a NYMF show produced by Amas Musical Theatre, details coming soon.

 

Apr ‘13- Wallflowers, a new series about love in the big city, airs www.wallflowers.tv.  

 

Mar ‘13- Jillian will present Georama, the new musical by author-director West Hyler, Kleban Prize-winning composer Matt Schatz and Jack Herrick of the Red Clay Ramblers.  Georama tells the story of American artist John Banvard, who traveled the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers as a young man in the mid-1800s. 

 

Feb ‘13- Jillian will present a concert of Tom and Jack Megan’s The Kid Who Would Be Pope, playing novice Sister Katherine, in CT.   Jillian will also play the role of “Sarah” in the new weight-loss musical “Winners,” and create roles in two brand-new workshops, playing “Valerie Ashley” in the new musical “I Am, I Will, I Do” and “Kitty” in “Too Hot for Hollywood.”  Jillian will reprise the role of Ainsley in Gretchen Cryer and David Ippolito’s “Possibility Junkie” at the Thalia Theatre, and create the role of “Alice Roosevelt” in Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford’s untitled new musical about the Roosevelts.   Check back for tickets to all!

Nov-Dec ‘12-  Jillian will work with Jerry Mitchell, Peter Mills, Stephen Weiner, and Bill Nuss to workshop their musical adaptation of a classic 1950’s TV sitcom.

 

Nov 12— Jillian will shoot new webseries “Wallflowers.”  Jillian plays Becca, a cheeky intern in the protagonist’s casting office.

 

Nov 12— Jillian will participate in a reading of the beautiful new musical Breathe at the York with writers Dan Martin & Michael Biello and director Bill Castellino.  Jillian will perform in workshops and concerts of musicals with Stuart McMeans, Tom Stuart, and Keith Varney.  Indie feature Mount Joy in which Jillian plays lovable supporting ditz-with-a-heart Ida will finish ADR and other post-production and begin the festival submission process.

 

Oct 12— Jillian will be working with Tom Jones and Joe Thalken on their musical adaptation of Harold and Maude.

 

Aug/Sept ‘12— Jillian will be participating in workshop readings, demo recordings, and concerts of the new musicals In My Body, Elway, Possibility Junkie, Popesical, and How I Got Radicalized with writers Gretchen Cryer, David Ippolito, Dan Martin, Michael Biello, Adam Overett, Lis Kalogris, Kate Cipriano, Ben Morss,  Ari Laura Kreith, and Keith Varney.   Jillian will  also be appearing on September 10th as part of a new 10 minute musical at the Brooklyn Lyceum & on September 14th as part of Contemporary Traditionalists concert at the Duplex.

 

July ’12—Jillian plays Gloria in Flambe Dreams at the NYMF, winning an award for Outstanding Individual Performance.  Directed by West Hyler with J. Elanie Marcos, Catherine Cox, Jarrod Spector, and Kevin B. McGlynn.

 

Jun ’12—Jillian will present Flambe Dreams at the Finger Lakes Music Theatre Festival’s “The Pitch” with writers Randy Klein and Matthew Hardy.

Jun ‘12— Jillian worked with Tom Jones on his reading of “The Game of Love” at the York’s Mufti series, playing “Annie.” Directed by West Hyler, starring Santino Fontana, Janet Dacal, Erin Davie, and many others.

 

Mar ‘12— Jillian will rejoin the cast of a lovely new musical produced by Amas Musical Theatre, directed by Kent Nicholson, with Philip Hoffman, Annie Golden, Pia Glenn, and Javier Munoz.

 

Feb ‘12— Jillian will play “Lucy Steele” in Jeremy Yaddaw and Neal Hampton’s Sense and Sensibility directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge at the Denver Center’s New Play Summit.  

 

Jan ‘12— Jillian performs in a new reading of an adaptation of the classic The Honeymooners sitcom, directed by Jerry Mitchell.

2011-12—Jillian films the indie feature Mount Joy on location, playing “Ida.”

 

Fall 2011—Jillian will play “Sister Katherine” in The Kid Who Would be Pope” at the NYMF directed by Gabriel Barre!

 

Summer 2011—Jillian performs at the prestigious NY Stage & Film.

 

Summer 2011— Jillian will work with Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford on a concert reading of their feminist icon, I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It on The Road at The York.  With Jen Colella, West Hyler directs.

 

 

Spring 2011— Jillian plays the female lead in a reading of Ben Morss and Ari Laura Kreith’s How I Was Radicalized. 

 

Jan-April ‘11— Jillian will play Laura in Walnut Street Theatre’s production of The Glass Menagerie.
